IUI

If you have a diagnosed infertility condition or unexplained infertility, our consultants will prescribe ovulation induction medications for 10 to 12 days before undergoing IUI. These medications help stimulate your ovaries’ follicles, where Oocytes develop, and improve the efficiency of ovulation or increase the number of mature Oocytes available for fertilization.

Our consultants will monitor your follicles and determine that the IUI is performed exactly when you are ovulating. To control the timing of ovulation, we may also give you an hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) injection to trigger ovulation. We will carry out the IUI procedure 36 hours after a trigger is given

Before the IUI, the semen sample from the husband is washed carefully to concentrate the same. Our consultant will transfer the washed, purified, and warmed sperm sample into you. After the procedure, you may lie down for 15 to 30 minutes and then resume normal activity.

  • Women under 35 typically have around a 15 percent chance of getting pregnant
  • Women older than 35 typically have a 5 percent or less probability of getting pregnant after one IUI, as woman’s fertility declines with age

In comparison with in vitro fertilization (IVF), IUI is less invasive and significantly lower cost, which makes it an accessible infertility treatment option. However, IVF does have higher pregnancy success rates than IUI
